This article, entitled The Marketization of Depression, by Janet Currie is an excellent exposé of our current state of affairs in regards to the over prescribing of psychiatric medications for depression. Worthwhile reading by all.This is the most complete discussion of the problems with this area of psychiatry and drugs for depression that I have ever read. The facts are clear and the references are pretty undisputable. I have been given permission by Women and Health Protection of Canada www.whp-apsf.ca to put the entire 27 page original research article on my web site. I greatly thank them for this, and hope many visitors to this site will take the time to read the article. Even if you do not know anyone suffering from depression, it will still help you to better understand the problems with drug based medicine in this area of healthcare.
