The ZTS MBT-1 www.ztsinc.com is the best battery tester in the world for testing all those different sized batteries you have around the house when some should be tossed in the garbage. Having worked (in a different lifetime) as an electrical contractor an electrical engineer and an audio video technician, batteries have always been very important to me. I want to know if a battery is still really good and most battery testers are garbage as they do not load test the Battery so they have zero accuracy. The ZTS MBT-1 is the only device of its kind. I rarely go a month without using it since I have batteries in many Sure Fire flashlights, golf range finders, portable radios, various temperature gauges and chef alarm meat thermometers, pH meters, Geiger counter, Fluke digital multi-meter, Ion counter, etc…………..
The Best Air filters/purifiers

I still trust their very knowledgeable owner, Terry Wright, and he is keeping me informed as these changes progress. Stay tuned. The best lubricant for various uses around the house: Break Free CLP (which stands for cleaner lubricant preservative) is 1000’s of times better in every way than crappy WD-40. If you can’t find it at your local home center, cause they want the cheap stuff, you should be able to find it in better hardware stores and in gun stores since gun owners will spend more money for better lubricants. It’s also easy to find it on the web. Another interesting lubricant is Frog Lube http://www.froglube.com, a totally nontoxic metal penetrating lubricant. Although it is marketed for gun owners, I have found it very useful for other applications.
Oil and transmission additive for your car, truck, motorcycle, etc.. Militec-1 www.Militec-1.com is a fascinating product. There are numerous additives on the market which claim to help extend the life of your engine and transmission but must of their claims are full of crap, not this one. I have used it for a long time. My engine currently has 300,563 original miles and I have no doubt that Militec has helped me get there. The only other additive that I know had been helpful is Prolong, but I believe Militec-1 is superior and I use it in both of our engines and transmissions per their directions.
Another very different oil and gas additive is Kreen from Kano Labs http://kanolabs.com. The state of California no longer allows them to ship their product here but for many years I would do their engine treatment protocol with Kreen according to the direction on their web site and on the can about every 18 months. They can ship to every state except California, so most of you can give it a try.
RxP gas additive one of the few gas additives which will generally pay for itself in most cars with the increase in mileage and a cleaner engine. I use it after most fill-ups.
Cleanable lifetime automobile oils filter GoPure Power www.Gopurepower.com. The retired oil chemist who developed this device and still runs the company is a genius. He invented a filter which does an astonishingly better job that the stupid paper oil filters which are still used in car today. His filters are so good that they are approved for aircraft use. I have been using on in my 1995 Mitsubishi for many years and now in my wife’s 2017 Corolla. They say you can double the oil change interval and still have better oil (but don’t forget to keep checking your oil level and adding oil as needed). Since I never believe anyone, I bought 6 engine oil test kits from both Blackstone Labs and Analysts Inc. I sent them engine oil samples at 3,000, 6,000 and 10,000 miles and the results from both labs kept coming back as oil is in good condition, re-test at next service interval. My 1995 car manual recommended oil and filter changes every 3,000 miles which I had previously been doing for well over a decade. Not anymore! If you are like me and money goes into health, vacations, food, my home, hobbies and the stock market, then it’s nice to save money on car repairs and keep the same car for, so far, 23 years and counting.
Medlight 630–PRO healing device www.MDevicesinc.com I have been using the Medlight for over 10 years. It works as well as my $4,000 soft tissue healing laser but costs 1/10th as much. I have sold close to 100 to my patients during this time and hear lots of wonderful storied of how much it help speed recovery from various injuries, sometimes making a surgery unnecessary. When I go on vacation, I take one with me, especially on downhill mountain biking vacations.

Most surge suppressor strips and most uninterruptible power supplies will never protect your equipment if there is a real surge or power outage. You think they are working because there has never been a bad problem for them to protect you from. When I was an electrical contractor I went to an all-day clinic where the engineers set up surge generators which destroyed every brand of device that any of us brought in to be tested while the better Leviton models kept protecting from these same issues all day long. I have maybe 10 Leviton S-2000 surge units all over my house protecting the TV, entertainment center, closed circuit cameras all around my home, answering machine, etc. My computer and peripherals are all plugged into my Eaton 9120 UPS. It has saved me from possibly destroying information on my hard drives or my DROBO in a few power outage so far. Better to spend more money for devices that really work then to save money and find that the ones you have did not do their jobs. Amazon usually has the Leviton S-2000 models.
The Best Wood Fireplace Logs
We have used wood burning stoves for over 20 years. They put out a nice heat, look great and I enjoy my job on cool nights of keeping the fire going. Most people would think that San Diego and vicinity would never need heat but it gets cool here too. Maybe the folks at sub zero temperatures think that a night time temp of low 40’s is warm, but it’s not. Plenty of places in San Diego county like Alpine, Julian and others even get snow most years. We got snow a few times in our 9 years in Deerhorn Valley before the 2007 wild fires and fraud with the insurance companies forced us to buy another house instead of rebuilding ours in Deerhorn.

In any event, I like a fire on cool nights and unless you have a wood or pellet burning stove or a wood or pellet burning fireplace insert, you are actually losing house heat and not increasing it with a fire in a regular fireplace, even though it is pretty. Most people don’t know that.

The logs are on top of the other two. I usually need to put a few crumbled-up pieces of newspaper on top to get the draw started so it goes up the chimney and not into our home. I have found that it is extremely important for me to keep an open mind in order to be the best health practitioner I can be. For example, when I was in my teens and early 20’s, I thought that astrology and psychics were a load of crap. The astrology belief got turned on its head when my girlfriend, Timmie, who was studying to be a professional astrologer, asked for my minute of birth so her teacher could do my natal chart as a gift for me. That was way before the internet, and yet this astrologer, her teacher (Leor Warner) told me personal and accurate things about myself and my family that he could not know and that she did not know. I asked him for a book recommendation and he said, A Time for Astrology by Jess Stern which I still recommend to people today. I have had readings from many really bad (or bogus) psychics as well as a very few really good ones (the same for animal communicators) so that I no longer disbelief in that either. These are simply fields that, like homeopathy, can attract a great deal of charlatans and so the public disbelieves most if not all of these, just as they used to disbelieve in chiropractors and acupuncturists until really good research studies were published on both.

I just recently added 6 small sculptures to my collection of beautiful stonecraft from Zimbabwe that were on Itai’s web site. I smile whenever I look at them. Each sculpture or creature is hand carved out of a single piece of stone. They are not glued or attached to the stone, the stone was carved out and polished to create the sculpture. In some cases, a white compound is pressed into carved out lines for accent. Take a look.
