Quacks & Bad Medicine

My intent is to add information and examples into this area as time goes on, but I must begin with a VERY IMPORTANT exposé of a dangerous and misleading fraud, and an excellent example of the word quack.

As it turns out, possibly the single most misleading individual of all the frauds and quacks in the field of health and medicine, is a self proclaimed quack buster! This particular unlicensed MD, Stephen Barrett, seems to spend all of his time trying to discredit some of the best and most highly respected professionals in the field of holistic health and medicine. He does his best to attack both the types and modalities of health care and the practitioners themselves, whose facts and abilities threaten the foundations of what is incorrectly referred to as “traditional” medicine. I say incorrectly, because the relatively new field of drug and surgery based medicine is hardly “traditional”. When herbs and foods have been used traditionally in medicine for many thousands of years all over the world, and specifically in India and China, “our” barely 200 year old drug based medicine is as far from what would be called a tradition as you could get.

Dr. Barrett and his bogus quack watch website are now so well known and understood by the real holistic experts, that most of them actually feel honored when this fraud of a quack watcher lists them on his ludicrous web site. The problem however, is that the public and mainstream medicine do not realize who Dr. Stephen Barrett really is and how he has failed repeatedly to win his fallacious lawsuits.

In an effort to further expose this dangerous man’s sinful antics, I will promote the web site of a courageous individual who has spent a great deal of his own money (Dr. Barrett spends other people’s money) to tell the truth about Dr. Barrett & his associates, and what they are doing. The web site that I want you to visit is www.QuackPotWatch.org Which was set up to follow and report on the Quack pot named Dr. Stephen Barrett. Tim Bolen, who runs this web site, also runs a second web site called www.BolenReport.com

I do not have the time to read all of the information that Tim has on his sites, and so I cannot vouch for everything he says, however I know him personally and he is a very caring individual who wants our rights to be protected and our health to be improved. Tim has given me permission to put a few PDF files here on my web page which are taken from some of his many pages of writings and official court documentation where he clearly exposes Dr. Stephen Barrett for what he truly is.

A good movie about the Gerson therapy for cancer (which Dr. Barrett calls a fraudulent therapy) can be purchased on the web from many sites including http://gerson.org/store In the DVD’s area or from Amazon at the link below http://www.amazon.com/Dying-to-Have-Known/dp/B000VSD9EA This movie, which at one point interviews Dr. Stephen Barrett, does one of the best jobs I have seen of exposing his extreme ignorance.

In actuality, there are a great many “front” organizations which have been formed with names that make us believe that they are something which they are not. If I had the time, I would love to expose them all. Many are in the health field and it is too bad that there are no laws regarding truth in advertising. On the other hand, since big business and big money is often on the wrong side of the facts, maybe it is better this way. The laws would probably get twisted, as many already have been, to suppress the actual facts and try to make the public believe the lies and propaganda. Knowledge is Power when the facts are real.
I wish you luck (and lots of skill and knowledge) in sorting them out.

Another example of misleading the public, involves the misuse of facts. For example, when Dr. Barrett wrote his scathing document entitled “A Critical Look at Carleton Fredericks” (where he even misspelled Dr. Fredericks first name by adding an “e”) he did a good job of avoiding important information. He wrote that Fredericks’ degrees were not in the field of nutrition. He conveniently neglected to tell us that Fredericks and his nutrition expertise and knowledge were (he is deceased) so highly regarded and respected, that he taught nutrition at a number of colleges, was often hired as an expert in this field, was paid to lecture to physicians and was looked up to by many other experts. Some of his friends included nutrition pioneers like Linus Pauling and Dr. Emanuel Cheraskin. So here, as in much scientific research that the media reports, we see how actual facts may be used in such a manner as to completely change what a thorough unbiased investigator would have reported to the reader.

I get quite a few patients every year, who relate to me some very disturbing stories about interactions they have had with various physicians. Not a year goes by that I do not hear a few of these often horrible stories. I have heard the same issues many times from so many different patients and in regards to so many different physicians at different hospitals and clinics as well as some in private practice, that I must finally begin to address them on my web site.

Whether it is due to all of our awful new healthcare regulations, or the current training in medical schools, or a push from the hospital administrators or just some of the types of people who are becoming physicians, it is very disturbing and needs to be addressed. Please note that although this first recording refers to physicians employed at Scripps in San Diego County, I am not in any way singling them out nor do I feel any animosity or dislike for that group. I get just as many similar reports from patients who use any number of other hospitals, clinics, HMO’s in various states of the country.

When this particular long time patient, Sandy, was in my office today and told me what had recently happened to her and also to her husband, it put me over the top and I asked her if she would relate it again as accurately as possible while I recorded her. She agreed and so this is the first of hopefully many such recordings I will put up over the next few years.

Many patients are either too embarrassed or afraid to make such recordings, so I don’t expect this area to grow rapidly, but hopefully by the end of 2018 I will have quite a few more.

My testimonials area is in a different part of my web site. I would HARDLY call this a testimonial and so I have decided to put them in this area instead.
